Another day, another new social media platform for specialists to explore; and ultimately decide whether or not it is a good fit the organization’s marketing objectives. This time, it’s Tumblr, a microblogging platform and social networking website, that is making noise. According to the latest Bitly Index, traffic for Tumblr, has more than doubled from the fourth quarter of 2014 to the first quarter of 2015.
As a matter of fact, Tumblr has experienced its biggest increase among desktop users, says Matthew Schwartz, a group editor for PR News. Check out the following infographic, by Bitly, that illustrates how “online communities are an increasingly crucial audience for brands and organizations alike”.
“People who are heavily patched into social sites can—depending on what you bring to the conversation—help to amplify your message and attract influencers,” said Schwartz.
